Sections

Authors interested in submitting their manuscripts to the Editorial Committee of the Journal of Education and Technology Trends should consider that the text fits in one of the following sections of the journal:

Editorial

A document written by the editor, a member of the editorial board or a guest researcher on descriptions and guidelines of the works corresponding to that issue of the journal.

Empirical Research Article

Document that presents advances or original results of research projects. Its structure includes four (4) sections: Title, abstract, introduction, methodology, results, conclusions and references. This type of article will have a length of between 15 and 20 pages, including the title and abstracts, in Spanish and English. The manuscripts submitted in this section are peer-reviewed and indexed in the directories in which the Journal is linked.

Theoretical or Reflection Article

A document that presents research results on a specific topic, fundamental concepts, or predominant ideas in a field from the author's analytical, interpretive, or critical perspective. These types of items must be supported by evidence. It usually contains the following parts: title, abstract, keywords, introduction, methodology, development of the topic, conclusions of the review, and bibliographic references. It is written in a persuasive and argumentative style, as it supports the author's point of view, while also trying to convince the reader. In this type of article, the proposed problem is sometimes not solved because it is an explanatory attempt or approximation. However, its thoughtful and open character does not imply superficiality or lack of rigor. The reflection articles will have a length ranging from 15 to 25 pages, including the title and abstracts.  The manuscripts submitted in this section are peer-reviewed and indexed in the directories in which the Journal is linked.

Literature review articles

A document that provides a critical and constructive analysis of the existing published literature in a field (state of the art), through abstracts, analyses, and comparisons, often identifying specific gaps or problems and providing recommendations for future research to: update and report on the status of a topic, organize and synthesize fragmented knowledge,  Compare information from different sources, learn about trends in research or suggest future work. It is characterized by being based on a rigorous bibliographic review of at least 50 references. It usually contains the following parts: title, abstract, keywords, context and justification, methodology, development of the topic and findings, conclusions and references. Review articles will be between 12 and 15 pages long, including the title and abstracts.  The manuscripts submitted in this section are peer-reviewed and indexed in the directories in which the Journal is linked.

Article or book reviews

A book/article review is a thorough description, critical analysis, and/or evaluation of the quality, meaning, and importance of a book/article, often written in connection with previous research on the topic. Reviews usually range from 500 to 2000 words. Although it is not peer-reviewed, the editorial committee will review its relevance for approval and publication.
