Author's responsibilities

Manuscript submissions by authors must meet the technical and editorial criteria specified by Journal of Education and Technology Trends in its Guidelines for Authors.
Each author must submit, together with the work proposed for publication in the Journal of Education and Technology Trends, the declaration of originality and compliance with the ethical standards of the Journal for the editorial committee continuing with the evaluation process.
Journal of Education and Technology Trends adheres to international and national standards on intellectual property and copyright and the Code of Ethics of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

For more detailed information, please refer to COPE: https://publicationethics.org/

Authors should avoid the following practices:

  1.  Simultaneous submission of articles: Manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Education and Technology Trends must be unpublished and must not be presented in more than one publication. If an article is in several review processes, it runs the risk of being published in different editions.
  2. Multiple, concurrent, or redundant publications: Generally speaking, the author should not publish papers that describe essentially the same research published in more than one journal or significant publication.
  3. Sending the same document to more than one serial publication constitutes unethical conduct, and its publication will be denied in any of its cases. Similarly, the author should not submit a previously published article to another scientific or non-scientific journal for consideration. If a secondary publication is submitted, the authors and editors of the journals involved must agree to this publication with the same information and interpretation of the base document. In this regard, the primary reference should be cited in the secondary publication.
  4. Plagiarism: Contributors must ensure that the document is entirely original; in the case of using third-party works and/or words, authors must ensure that they are appropriately cited. Plagiarism can manifest itself in different ways, from passing off a document written by other authors as one's own to copying or paraphrasing substantial parts of someone else's document (without attributing the corresponding references), claiming as one's own the publication rights of third parties or the results of research carried out by others. Plagiarism in all its forms constitutes unethical behavior, which is unacceptable in any scientific publication.  Journal of Education and Technology Trends uses the software "Ithenticate" to detect plagiarism. In case of plagiarism, the result will be communicated to the author and the corresponding adjustments will be requested, or the article will be rejected according to the severity of the plagiarism.
  5. Falsification of results: the documents must be truthful in the results they achieve. Fabricating and manipulating data from any study for the author's convenience are fraudulent practices.
