Editorial process

All submitted manuscripts in the Journal of Education and Technology Trends will go through the following stages:

Manuscripts Submission. The corresponding author submits their manuscript through the Journal's platform, attaching the text in editable format, images, tables (.xlsx editable) and Authorship Declaration format.

Editorial and thematic review. All manuscripts need a format review by the editorial committee, which uses originality review software to avoid plagiarism. The submitted manuscripts are initially reviewed and evaluated by the editor and the members of the Editorial Committee to determine their relevance according to the area and thematic disciplines of the Journal, their adequacy to editorial standards and their consistency with the quality standards that allow their submission to national and international external peers.

Peer review: Original articles will be submitted to a strictly anonymous evaluation by academic peers, specialists, or ad-hoc external referees under the double-blind review. The peer evaluators are selected from among recognized researchers in the area of Social Sciences (Education), with specific knowledge of the subject of the article and, with Master's or Doctorate levels, without conflicts of interest, understanding as such any type of economic interest, professional or personal relationship, which affects objectivity or presentation, concerning the manuscript they are going to evaluate.

Possible outcomes of peer review process:

  1. Accept without modifications. The article is accepted and sent to the style correction and layout process.
  2. Accept with minor revision. If the peers accept the submitted manuscript but require clarifications or modifications, it will be sent to the author for the respective adjustment of the document.
  3. Accept after major revision.  If the peers accept the submitted manuscript but require clarifications or modifications, it will be sent to the author for the respective adjustment of the document.
  4. Reject paper. Academic peers have not accepted the manuscript, so the Journal will not publish the paper.

Suppose the decision to accept or reject an article is not unanimous. In that case, the document will be sent to a third referee, whose evaluation will decide the publication of the proposed work.

Article publication. Once the approval stages have been completed, the manuscript will be sent for style correction, layout, and publication on the Journal's website under the Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International license.

To guarantee the active participation and linking of the authors who contributed to the construction of the approved article, all authors must authorize linking their ORCID Code on the platform. Once the manuscript is approved, this procedure will be notified.

Diffusion. All published articles will be disseminated in the academic and collaborative networks of UNAD Florida.
